Hello, we're the Baxters.
Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the interwebs. We love talking about navigating support services for kiddos on the spectrum (getting a diagnosis, occupational therapy, speech therapy, applied behavior analysis, IEPs, IPPs, the Regional Center, and MORE) and we also share everyday life tips. We live in Northern California, outside of Sacramento. If you aren't already, please follow us on social media!

About Nichole
Hey there! I'm Nichole, a working parent moonlighting as an autism advocate. My journey with autism centers on my amazing daughter, JJ, who has a unique way of experiencing the world. After JJ's autism diagnosis, I felt lost in a maze of unfamiliar territory – insurance jargon, service options, and the constant struggle to balance her care with work and life. Frustrated by the lack of relatable resources out there for parents of kids on the spectrum, I've decided to share what we've learned (and continue to learn).

Beyond motherhood, I am a public relations professional. I love my work and the connections it allows me to foster, but none of it would be possible without my husband, Sean, who holds down the fort as a stay-at-home parent.
I'm by no means an expert in neurodiversity but I'm here to share what I've learned and offer support! One step, one story, and one helpful tip at a time. If you're living a similar journey and trying to spin all the plates, remember you're not alone! *sends mom hug*

About Sean
Sean is a kick-ass stay-at-home parent to our two little agents of chaos: JJ and Calvin. Between shuttling to school, therapy, doctors appointments, and *equally as important* park visits, Sean enjoys film, Houston sports teams, and baking.
Prior to becoming a stay-at-home parent, Sean got his bachelor of arts degree in education and was pursuing his master's in special education when we received JJ's diagnosis. After some serious consideration of our personal finances, we decided to take a chance and live off of one income, so that JJ could have the full-time parental care she needed.

We decided to have a second child, Calvin, who is four years younger than JJ. Sean jokes that the second kid has solidified his "job security," but we all know he officially has the tougher gig!
